The French Institute in Israel has turned its attention to caricature to mark the first anniversary of the tragic events in Paris. Two exhibitions are currently on show. One retraces the history of caricature from the 18th through the 19th centuries in England and France. The other pays homage to those who were killed with thirty new caricatures produced for the occasion by French and Israeli artists. Two public debates discussing the history and functions of caricature are scheduled for January. For more information see: Intranquillité
